The Footballer, the Führer, and the Ferris-Wheel

di Orlando Pearson

Vienna, 1938. Sherlock Holmes is summoned by a desperate Chancellor to save Austria from Nazi annexation. But in a city where mobs rule and Jews are stripped of everything, his methods prove helpless against a tyranny that rewrites law at will. A footballer's defiant goal and a fair deal for a Jewish café owner become the last acts of decency—and possibly their death sentences. Holmes watches as a nation votes itself into oblivion, powerless to intervene. A haunting tale of detection's limits in the face of evil.
